Jazz Comp Dance Team
Current team members can visit the Performance Team Page to view information about their classes, performances, competitions and team fees.
(Ages Kindergarten and up. 1 hour – 1 hour 15 minutes once a week)
Our Jazz Comp Team is a once a week beginning performance class. This program is geared towards beginning students who prefer the convenience of once a week classes along with the opportunity to participate in a few performances throughout the year. This class is a perfect step in between our recreation class and our Show-Time Dance Team.
Jazz Comp students receive proper dance instruction in both ballet & jazz. Students will learn proper technique, coordination, rhythm, timing and basic technique and performing skills. Dancers in this class perform at special events, participate in competitions and the end of year recital. They perform at a Utah Jazz Game and 3 competitions in the spring time. We may participate in other local performance.
It is a really fun program! Some people are apprehensive due to the fact that the team competes. But our competition attitude is very low key and healthy. It is more about the experience of performing than the outcome of the awards ceremony. We concentrate on technique in a fun positive atmosphere, we just want the kids to do their best, improve and have fun!
All Team members are required to pay a $10.00 team placement fee.
